What a wonderful Summer Show. The number of exhibits was up this year on last year which was pleasing, with entries coming in from the other local villages. Both the flowers and the vegetables were spectacular considering the heat and lack of rain prior to the show. I think most fruits were early this year so there was not much on display although with melons, cherries and apricots on show it still looked very impressive.

Bakery classes were down, probably because it was too hot to bake in the run up to the show. It was good to see the local schools exhibiting their fuchsias and geraniums, supplied by the society but nurtured by them.

The weather for the show was excellent, with many stalls and live music featuring local ukulele band “UKe box” outside the village hall in the Glebelands garden.

Thanks must go to our hard working committee and the many helpers. If you would like to be involved in any capacity including stewarding the judges prior to the opening of the show please get in contact with us. Please use the contacts page on this website or speak to one of the committee. It is worthwhile being involved in community events.
